This mandir is dedicated to Rameshwara Mahadev, one of the many local names devotees across India use for Shiva. It was built in 2018 by Lal Bahadur Maurya in his native village of Gopalpur, near Vindhyachal, and took about four and a half months to complete. Craftsmen brought in from Jaipur, Rajasthan did the stone carving, which is why the sandstone work on the facade and pillars has that distinct Rajasthani look.
A Dharamshala for visiting devotees was built alongside the temple. In 2022, Lal Bahadur Maurya drew up the deed for Rameshwar Mahadev Trust to formally run the temple's worship and upkeep, and the trust was registered with the Uttar Pradesh government in 2024.

The murti at the center of the sanctum is a Shiva Linga, the form through which Shiva is worshipped in temples across the country. The temple also enshrines Brahma and Vishnu alongside Shiva, completing the Trimurti, with Nandi seated just outside the sanctum doorway, facing the linga.
Smaller shrines line the inner wall around the main sanctum, each in its own carved niche: Ganesha, Hanuman, and Radha-Krishna.
Three carved sandstone shikharas rise above the entrance porch, with floral and lattice detailing along the pillars and parapet. Built by craftsmen from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The sanctum is compact, just enough room for the linga and the priest performing abhishekam, with devotees taking darshan from the doorway.
Nandi sits just outside the sanctum, facing the linga across the threshold, the traditional arrangement in Shiva temples.

The temple holds its annual Bhandara every 21 February, with Bhagwat Katha, Satsang, and Ramayana recitation, drawing thousands of devotees from the surrounding villages.
Rameshwar Mahadev Trust is governed by five trustees, registered with the Uttar Pradesh government in 2024.
